Nickerson JocelyneNICKERSON, Jocelyne -  It is with sad hearts, we announce the passing of Jocelyne Nickerson (age 63) at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Ontario on the morning of Monday, June 17, 2019, surrounded by her immediate family.

She was predeceased by her parents Laurent Boutin and Lucia Lagrange; her sister Yolande Boutin and brother-in-law Leonard Brochu.

Jocelyne was born in Levis, Quebec. She lived in Saint-Isidore and was married in Quebec, but created her home and raised her family in Mississauga, Ontario.

Jocelyne lived to serve. She would go to the ends of the earth for her beloved husband Jim and adoring daughter Jennie.

Jocelyne concerned herself with the well-being and happiness of all those she encountered: from close family members to new friends and neighbours that would come into her life.

She will be sadly missed, but always remembered, by her dear husband Jim, and her cherished daughter Jennie (Robert); her goddaughter Megan (with her mom Melanie and brother Colin Jr.); her nephew Jason (Kara) who lived close by in Ontario and held a special place in her heart; along with her brothers and sisters: Ernest (Carmelle), André (Claudette), Mariette, Denyse (Maurice), Florence (Gilles), Nicole (Donald), Michel (Thérèse), Monique (Joe), and brother-in-law Réjean; her husband’s family: Mavis (mother), Bobby, Joey (Phyllis) and Chris.

She also leaves in mourning her uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, neighbours and many, many friends that she made during her time with us.

The family wishes to thank all the staff, nurses, doctors, spiritual care advisers and volunteers, who work tirelessly in the Neuro Centre of St. Michael’s hospital in Toronto, Ontario. Jocelyne was a breast cancer survivor who beat that disease and continued to fight it to the point that her cancer never returned. When she suffered a brain aneurysm, her strength and resiliency continued, surviving many days longer than her initial prognosis.

A memorial service will be held at the Glen Oaks Funeral Home, Oakville, on Saturday July 6th at 3 pm. Niche interment will take place followed by a reception at the funeral home.
