Simonetta JosephSIMONETTA, Joseph Peter - (September 13, 1932September 17, 2019)

Beloved father of Joseph and Caroline, Vince and Anna, and Steve and Marina.

Cherished grandfather of Marvin, Stephanie, Andrew, Rachael, Danielle, Amanda and Leah. Great-grandfather of Alex and Jolie. Brother-in-law to Dennis Ricketts.

Joseph will be missed by all of his family, including many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joseph was predeceased by his father Dominic and mother Rosa, his brother George and sisters Patricia (Ralph Macri) and Nancy.

Special thanks to McGarrell Place for their kindness and special care of our father over the past several years. Also a special thanks to Thompson Funeral Home for co-ordinating everything for us.

If desired, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Dad started out his career as a teenager working at Tip Top Tailors. From there, he moved on to CN Rail. He worked 10 years as a driving instructor which he enjoyed; especially when it came time to teach his boys how to drive. Shortly afterward, he moved on to De Havilland. He then began his career at York University where he took pride in being a great custodian/lead hand. He retired from this position after 25 years.

Dad was musically inclined and played the accordion in a band called “Peppi Fazzari Orchestra” with “cumba” George Fazzari. He later shared his passion with his three sons who created their own band, "Sabbia." Joseph’s sons have passed their musical talent forward to the rest of the family.

Visitation at Thompson funeral home, Aurora on September 23rd from 2 - 4pm and 6 - 8pm.

Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Grace Church, 15347 Yonge St., Aurora on September 24th at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Aurora Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
