Freitas SydneyFREITAS, Sydney - After a long and courageous battle with numerous health problems, Sydney Freitas passed away on April 3, 2020 at the age of 82.

He was the loving husband of Celine (nee D’Costa), devoted father of Sydney Jr. and Michelle (Sean), and doting grandfather to Destiny.

He is also survived by his siblings Mavis (Tony), Terence (the late Daphne), and Florence (Richard), and by his nephews and nieces.

Sydney was born in Karachi, Pakistan, and resided in Lahore and Rawalpindi, where he served in the British High Commission.

In 1973, he spent 9 months in London, England, where he developed into a formidable darts player. That same year, Sydney immigrated to Toronto to be with the rest of his family. He soon took a job at Ontario Hydro, where he worked until his retirement as a Financial Analyst.

In his spare time, Sydney was a passionate fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, an avid bridge player, and a keen follower of world news.

Sydney will be greatly missed by his relatives and large circle of friends. Arrangements with Ogden funeral home, Scarborough.
