Doyle LarryDOYLE, Lawrence William 'Larry' - (1945 - 2020) - Passed away unexpectedly on April 18, 2020, after experiencing a stroke.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Catherine “Kay”, as well as his son Matthew, and sister-in-law Betty. Predeceased by his daughter Lesley Ann, parents Bill and Rita, and brother Dennis.

Larry led a very full life, which included working as an electrician and a member of IBEW Local 353, then switching gears, he graduated from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Education, making the Dean’s list, and enjoyed a fruitful career as a high school teacher, notably at St. Mary’s Catholic Secondary School. He was also a member of the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves, reaching the rank of Captain with the Corps of RCEME.

Known as a storyteller, he was quick to regale friends, neighbours, and acquaintances with personal anecdotes, and enjoyed spending time with his many friends, including Alf and Linda Dyett, Wayne and Bonnie Spear, Fr. Gene and Bernadette Morishita-Miki, Norton Woo and the Woo family, and many more.

The family wishes to thank Brian Hill for his invaluable help at this difficult time.

A private service will be held at Pine Hills Cemetery. A Celebration of Larry's Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations can be made to either St. John the Compassionate Mission or St. Mary of Egypt Refuge. Arrangements with Jerrett funeral home, Scarborough.
