YOANIDIS, Bodos 'Bobo' - Passed away peacefully on Sunday April 11, 2021 three weeks shy of his 85th birthday at Sunnybrook Palliative Care unit.
Beloved father of Vivian (Luis), and Clement (Roxanne).
Loving Papou of Amanda, Sydney, Andreas, and Alexandra.
He joins his cherished wife Mariya (Maro) Yoanidis of 55 years a week after she passed away.
Bobo’s deep faith, strong spirit and immense love for his family is what gave him the strength to battle cancer over the past three years.
Bobo had a serious exterior but a heart of gold. He was compassionate, caring and deeply devoted to his family and friends. He would do anything for those he cared about and his generosity was experienced by everyone he came in to contact with.
The youngest of four siblings, he left Istanbul, Turkey to go to Zurich, Switzerland in 1965 in search of a better life. He lived in Zurich for three years with the love of his life Maro. The two moved to Toronto in 1968 where they settled and had a family.
Bobo was a man of his word who lived a life full of conviction and integrity. He prided himself in working hard and was loyal to a fault. These exceptional characteristics were instilled in his children and grandchildren and is the legacy he leaves behind. Bobo will forever be loved and in our hearts and his family is finding solace in knowing that he has been reunited with his beloved wife Maro.
The family will receive friends at Heritage Funeral Centre, Toronto on Friday, April 16th. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 17 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 30 Throncliffe Park Drive., Toronto. Interment to follow.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and Sunnybrook Palliative Care Unit are welcome in his memory.
