McKENZIE, Mary "Marcia" Matilda - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marcia McKenzie after a courageous battle with cancer on May 1, 2021 at the age of 86.

Marcia was born in St. Mary, Jamaica W. I. on April 14, 1935, daughter of Gilbert and Theresa McKenzie. Tragically, she lost her parents at an early age and thereafter was raised by a pastor.

In Jamaica, Marcia owned and operated a bar and restaurant. As she was a first class cook, her restaurant was extremely popular with the locals.

After immigrating to Canada, Marcia worked as a caregiver to James Papadolias.

Her dedication to his well-being was immeasurable and she always took great pride in ensuring for his care. Her connection with the Papadolias family continued and remained strong as she became an extended family member.

Marica’s caregiving abilities were not limited to her work with James. She devoted her life to helping others and she often went the extra mile to assist those in need. She was one of the kindest and generous people one could ever meet. It was her delight to cook and share with others. Being a spiritual woman, she involved herself in many church activities, often partaking in ways to help it raise funds.

During Marcia's retirement years, along with watching her beloved Toronto Blue Jays, she spent much time playing dominoes. She was extremely happy when her team gave her opposing team six love.

Marcia is survived by her nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. She will be deeply missed.

Due to COVID19 pandemic restrictions, the funeral services will be private and by invitation only. Arrangements and public access to livestream visitation and funeral services are entrusted with Scott funeral home, West Toronto chapel.
