van Loenen HansVAN LOENEN, Hans Ronald - With the heaviest of hearts, the family of Hans van Loenen announce his passing after a short illness on May 5, 2021. His passing was marked by a strong circle of love and care provided by his family while honoring his final wish to pass at home.

Husband, Partner and Friend of Joan for 58 years, he took on the role of husband and father with unparalleled dedication and commitment. Family was at the core of everything for him and this included his extended family and friends.

Hans will be remembered by friends and family across the globe and the positive impact he had on all who crossed his path.
Hans will be deeply missed by his children, Christine (Brett) and John (Ana) and his 6 grandchildren; Davis, Emma, Tait, Ian, Melissa and Jacqueline.

A Herculean work ethic, kind heart and steadfast resilience were the hallmarks of Hans' character. Hans embraced a good conversation and had a lifelong love of learning, physical activity and appreciation of the arts.

His retirement years were filled with time in his legendary garden, ballroom dancing, The Wednesday Wheelies and his grandchildren.

Forever in our hearts and deeply missed.

A private family service will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 by invite only. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the gathering limitations put forth by the Province of Ontario, all services will remain private for family only.

In lieu of flowers, our family asks that a memorial donation be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
