DO ALAMO, Manuel Coelho - Passed away peacefully at Chartwell Resthaven Long Term Care in Aurora, on Wednesday June 9th, 2021, in his 84th year.
Loving husband of 58 years to Cecilia Odete (née Espinola Cota). Beloved father of Victor and his wife Rosa. Proud grandfather of Christina, Jennifer, and Stephanie. Great-grandfather of Aidan, Adalyn, Lily and Claire.
Survived by his brother Luciano, sisters Bernadette, Noemia, Cecilia, Laurinda, Sofia, Lucia, and predeceased by Francisca and Maria. Son of the late Manuel Coelho and Maria de Jesus.
Manuel was born on September 29th, 1936 in Terceira, Azores, Portugal. In Terceira, he enjoyed his career as a bus driver on the island and made many lifelong friends. Immigrated to Canada with his wife and son in 1969, he continued to drive for a living until his retirement.
His many hobbies included wine-making and gardening. His fig trees and grapes were his pride and joy. He enjoyed watching tourada a corda events (running of the bulls). He cherished his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements entrusted with Roadhouse and Rose funeral home. Funeral service will be livestreamed and held at St. John Chrysostom Church, 432 Ontario Street, Newmarket, on Monday, June, 14th, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery at 250 Main Street North.
