DArcy ShirleyD'ARCY, Shirley  Frances D'Arcy (nee Reid)  - Passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 in Toronto, Ontario.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Bill, 2005 and her sister Betty.

Devoted Mother to Roy and Julie.

Proud Grandmother of Adam, and Great-Grandmother to Wil, Daisy, and Maverick.

Shirley was born Shirley Frances Reid, December 15, 1928.

She often reminisced about her wonderful childhood on the farm at what is now, Hwy. 427 and Dundas Street. Her family has long been a part of the fabric of Etobicoke life and development.

From high school valedictorian, to a telephone operator, to nursing, to ownership of a thriving business, she was always interested in doing her part and supporting those around her.

She loved travelling, animals, playing bridge, and gardening, for which she won an award for the Best Garden in Etobicoke.

A strong, loving and vibrant woman, she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

A private visitation will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021. Funeral Rite will take place on Friday, August 6, 2021, followed by interment. Due to COVID restrictions the visitation and service will be private, invitation by family only.

A celebration of life will be held at the Old Mill at 4:00 p.m., following the burial, for all those who would like to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Yonge Street Mission in memory of Shirley Frances D'Arcy.
