YOUNG, Gordon N.   -  (Born July 29, 1927, Toronto) Gordon Norval Young passed away at home, on January 11, 2022, at the age of 94.

Predeceased by Audrey, his wife of 65 years, and his brothers, Art, Bill and Jack.

He is survived by his children, Francine Oates and Thomas Young, along with 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A talented woodworker, Gord could often be found working on a project in his backyard workshop, accompanied by the Belgian Shepherds that he and Audrey adored.

He loved to dance and enjoyed clogging for many years and also joined Audrey in ballroom dancing.

The two of them loved travelling as well as relaxing and gardening in their lovely backyard. An important part of Gord's life was his 50 plus years of sobriety, of which he was very proud.

He was always grateful for the friendships forged, the support he received and the many positive changes it brought to his life.

Gord struggled bravely with COPD over the last few years and although it limited his life greatly, he rarely complained.

He had a wonderful group of very kind neighbours who watched out for him and he found happiness sitting on his porch on a sunny day, watching the neighbourhood activity.

Gord often expressed the wish that he would die in his own home and we are grateful that his wish was fulfilled.

There will not be a service held and burial at Pine Hills Cemetery is private.

If desired, a donation in Gord's name to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
