Halpern MarkHALPERN, Mark  - On Sunday, March 13, 2022, at age 62, Trevor Mark Halpern passed away peacefully at his home in Denenchofu, Tokyo, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in North Warren, Pennsylvania, Mark lived mostly in Toronto before immigrating to Japan in 1993.

Mark is survived by his beloved wife Tomoko, adored children Aska and Randy, cherished siblings Howard, Chaia (Moshe), Emily, John (Ann) and sister-in-law Akiko (Tomonobu).

He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews Sarah, William, Noah, Tetsuro and Masayo, and by his loving cousins and his many friends.

Mark was wonderful: brilliant, funny, elegant, erudite, generous, and deeply appreciated for his exceptionally fine character.

He was a published author of beautifully written and extremely humorous short stories about Westerners living in Japan, as well as an outstanding jazz musician.

After moving to Japan, Mark worked at Nishimura & Sanada, then Aiba & Partners, before opening his own firm, Law Office of T. Mark Halpern, specializing in international shipping sales.

Memorial donations can be made to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto at: http://gofundraise.sickkidsfoundation.com/goto/Mark_Halpern or to the charity of your choice.
