Donald Panchenko LudaDONALD-PANCHENKO, Ludmilla (Luda)    -  Luda passed away peacefully, at Kensington Gardens Long- Term Care Centre, on January 24, 2023, surrounded by family members.

Predeceased by her parents, Andriy (Andrew) Panchenko and Parsha (Peggy) Panchenko.

Luda is survived by her husband, Douglas; children, Braedon, Tarryn and Mark; sisters, Lois and Catherine; and six grandchildren: Auden, Saoirse, Cillian, James, Eliza and Thomas.

She will be deeply missed by her entire family, extended family, and all of her friends. Luda treasured the peace and serenity of nature.

She loved walks along the trials, ravines and beaches wherever she lived – locales as diverse as Toronto, Canada and Auckland, New Zealand.

She was a fiercely proud Ukrainian-Canadian who took great solace in her culture, her heritage, and particularly her faith - which was a feature of her life, and remained strong with her until she passed. Luda was a respected litigator called to the Bars of both Ontario and New Zealand.

Her softspoken nature belied a sharp legal mind - and incidentally - an affection for the more rollicking music of Creedence Clearwater Revival, amongst others. But her greatest love was her family; Luda was constant in her love, tenderness and compassion towards her three children – all of whom will treasure her memory and miss her dearly.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff of Kensington Gardens, who cared for Luda over the last several years and treated her with great compassion in her final days.
