Duke WainwrightDUKE, Wainwright Alexander Leslie   - September 22, 1948 - January 25, 2021

Leslie Wainwright Alexander Duke passed away on Monday January 25th, 2021 in Oshawa Ontario.

Predeceased by his parents Joseph Benjamin Duke, Sylvia Adina Pollard-Duke and son Gordon St- Aubyn Duke.

Was spouse to Audrey Abrams-Duke.

Parent of Deborah Duke-Ageda, (late) Gordon Duke, Shondell Duke, Leslie Duke Jr., Jermaine Duke, Leslyn Duke and Abiola Duke.

Grandfather of Jerrel, Jordan, Owen-Jahsia, Iasiah, Jayda, Marisah, Jaeden, Deanah, Brianna, Joshuah, Shyann, Tyrese and Niyome.

Great grandfather to Carlisa.  Sibling of Dolly Duke-Brandt, Joseph Duke Jr., Juliet Duke and Paulette Duke-Hodge.

Uncle of Patrick Jr., Marcia, Dolly Odelia, Fame, Candaci, Richard, Allison, Juliette, Jolaine, Deidre,Joseph Duke Jr., Michael Jr., Melderick and Menisha. Great uncle to nieces and nephews.

Cousin to the Rock family, the Pollard family, the Cummings family and the Duke family.

He was born in Berbice Guyana, he attended GTI Trade School in the Electrician Programme.

He was employed at the Linden Bauxite Plant in Guyana. Leslie was an avid darts player.

He subsequently migrated to Canada and was employed by Via Rail and Canadian Pacific Rail, as an Electrician. He had a great work ethic and was passionate about his occupation.

Leslie was known for his imperturbable nature and smile. He had a quiet sense of humor, he was youthful at heart and had an impressive personal fashion sense.

Leslie also known as ‘Jukie’, ‘Jukes’ and ‘The Duke’ will be missed by his family and friends.

Thanks to Mark Ageda (Son-In-Law) who truly embodied the definition of ‘Son-In-Law’.
