GIANCOLA, Giuseppe - With sadness we announce the passing of Giuseppe Giancola on Saturday, October 19, 2019.
Giuseppe was born December 13, 1933 to Nicola and Libera in Castelpetroso, Isernia, Italy. He was one of four brothers, including: Angelo, Adolorato, and Vincenzo.
In Italy, Giuseppe served in the militari Italiano and worked as a boscaiolo.
He also married the love of his life for 60 plus years, Vincenza.
He immigrated to Canada, where he worked as a lumberjack in Northern Ontario. Giuseppe and his family then moved to Toronto, where he worked for over 40 years in construction and built many roads and bridges that we travel on today.
Giuseppe Giancola is remembered as a devoted husband to Vincenza, proud father to Nick and Dino, caring father-in-law to Connie and Marisa, loving Nonno to Daniel, Elizabeth, Dan, David and April, and passionate Bisnonno to Owen.
Visitation will be held at Bernardo Funeral Homes, Dufferin Chapel, Toronto on Thursday, October 24th, 2019 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 9:00pm. The service will take place at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 811 Lawrence Avenue West, Toronto on Friday, October 25th, 2019 at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
