He emigrated to Canada at the age of 16 years. 

He married his life-long sole mate Ivanka Francelj in September 1966.  He worked in the Timmins underground mines for 42 years.

Predeceased by first wife Joan of 42 years and second wife Sheila of 14 years.

Bill opened Stouffville Sales and Service in 1968 and was a longtime Cub leader with Scouts Canada. He enjoyed microcars and cottage life during his retirement.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland on the 13th of April 1929.

After coming to Canada she worked at the City Hall in Oshawa.

Her love of horses encouraged her and her late husband Freeman Ashton to open Colonial Equestrian Centre in Bowmanville.

She will be sadly missed by her family William and Betty Bell of Durham, David and Jenny Bell of Fife, Scotland, Anne Harron née Bell of Oshawa and many nieces and nephews.

The son of Clarence and Anne Toaze, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Gwendolyn Kerr and by loving sisters Eira, Eileen and Kathryn, survived by sister Grace, nieces and nephews.

Howard was the great, great grandson of Richard Nelson and Mary Toaze who arrived and settled in Stouffville, Ontario in June 1837.

MON SUE, Lesma Rose - In her 90th year, passed away peacefully at home in Whitby, Ontario, Canada in the early hours of Sunday February 9th, 2020.

She was born on September 19th, 1930 in the parish of St Ann, Jamaica to Mae Morris and Purcell Lawson.

She graduated nursing school becoming a registered nurse in 1956 which spanned a four decade career in England, Jamaica & Canada, providing service and care for others as was her way known for her incredibly compassionate, caring and loving demeanor.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that James Meredith Liddell (86) passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully at Lakeridge Heatlh Oshawa on February 4, 2020 with family at his side. 

Jim is predeceased by his wife Marjorie (Millican) who passed away two years ago and survived by his three children Susan Teengs (Len), Gary (Leigh-Anne) and Jeffrey (Barbara) and his six grandchildren (Justin, Jordan, Jack, Jeffrey, Jessica and Amanda).  

Jim grew up in Montréal, Québec as the only child of Allan and Elizabeth Liddell. 

Jim attended Westmount High School and then McGill University (KRT Fraternity).

Upon graduation, he proudly worked at Bell Canada for 30+ years.
